Winterbourne Parish Council: Meet the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm in the Ron Burton Room of the Winterbourne Glebe Hall; 20th November and 18th December 2024 and 15th January 2025. Parishioners are welcome to attend. Community Days: We are next meeting on Saturday, 23rd November 9am to 12noon. Meet in the village playground carpark. We break for December and return on 18th January 2025. Get involved with litter picking, clearing footpaths and trimming hedgerows etc. Equipment and high-viz jackets provided. All ages welcome. Drop in Café: November 13th & 27th. 2pm to 4.30pm. Winterbourne Glebe Hall. No charge but donations welcomed. IT support now available – bring your phone, iPad or laptop for free advice. December 11th from 1pm. Live Christmas Concert, plus songs from Winterbourne School choir. Then fortnightly from January 8th 2025.
Bourne Valley Link Scheme: 30th November, Christmas Bazaar, 10.30 to 12 noon, Winterbourne Glebe Hall. Various stalls selling Christmas gifts, decorations, cards and cakes. Bourne Valley Historical Society: November 21st: Emily Naish (Salisbury Cathedral Librarian), on “Archiving Salisbury Cathedral and Protecting the Cathedral’s Treasures during WW2”. No meeting in December. Then January 16th and 3rd Thursday in the month, except August. All meetings in Winterbourne Glebe Hall at 7.30pm. Newbourne Players: Join us for an evening of excitement and captivating mystery! Test your powers of deduction with friends and family to solve the crime, over a festive supper and purchases from the bar. Tickets to ‘The Mysterious Murder at the Murder Mystery” are now on sale for 12th,13th,14th December 2024 . Winterbourne Earls CE Primary School: School is always keen to support the Winterbourne community, with a highlight being a packed Harvest celebration at the parish church led by our Chaplain. FOWES will be providing a Fireworks Night on 2nd November. We will be supporting both the Live Christmas Concert at the Glebe Hall on 11th December and the Joint Carol Service on 15th December. We are also leading the Song for Christmas concerts alongside Salisbury Radio. Any new families would be warmly welcomed to our friendly village school for tours at forthcoming Open Days.
Bourne Valley Scout Group - Scout Christmas Post We are joining in with the District Scouts selling stamps and delivering Christmas Post all around the Salisbury Area. Stamps and Posting Boxes in the Winterbournes can be found at 3, The Cottages, Main Rd, Winterbourne Gunner. Stamps cost 40p. The Last day of Posting is Wednesday 4th December. Bourne Valley Horticultural Society & Gardening Club: November 7th: Roger Hirons, The Plant Doctor, “What you can grow in the garden to eat other than fruit or veg.” Dec 5th. Christmas meeting, with mulled wine, mince pies and a Christmas Quiz or demonstration. All in Winterbourne Glebe Hall from 7.30pm. Book early for Annual Social Supper on January 18th 2025.
