The Figsbury Challenge was a great success with support from across the school and the local community. We were blessed with excellent weather and the atmosphere was amazing. Thank you to everyone who turned out on the day and to the winners, well done!
World Book Week was a great highlight of the term when we celebrated animals from sharks to chickens, pandas to sloths and many more in between. The children were excited to discover a ‘tranimalator’ which allowed us to talk to animals! This proved to be a fantastic stimulus for our continuing work on endangered habitats including how the ‘Lungs of the Earth’ (rainforests) are affected. Our Reception class also asked the question “Do all animals start life inside an egg?” This question has leant itself very well to finding out about lots of different types of animals from tadpoles to turkeys!
The allocation for Reception children coming to join Winterbourne Earls in September 2024 has been announced. Currently we still have a few spaces available and would be delighted to welcome any parents to come along and view the school. Our Reception class is a lovely, lively space where children entering full-time education, are nurtured and encouraged to take a full part in school and we see their confidence grow daily.
